Academy Students need to register with the Library at the Check Out Desk by submitting a completed registration form. This could take place the first time a student needs to borrow materials. Students must present their high school ID at this time. They will then be issued a RVCC library card. This card must be presented to checkout library materials. This is to ensure prompt and accurate service. In addition, only the owner of the card will be allowed to make library transactions.
Books borrowed from the RVCC library must be returned to the RVCC library. They may not be returned to a local branch library.

1Cost stated is the default cost. Actual cost may vary by item and does not include mandatory $5 processing fee.
2Interlibrary loan period and fees/costs are determined by the lending library and will vary by item.
3Items are for in-Library use only.
Late fines will be applied to items returned after the due date if they have been requested by another patron. Students will receive five overdue notices, indicating which items are checked out. If an item checked out to a student is requested by another patron, the current student will receive a notice and a reminder, indicating which of the items they checked out have been recalled. Replacement and processing fees will be applied for any unreturned items and the student will receive a bill. This results in a Hold being placed on the student’s library account. Borrowing privileges are suspended until the items are returned and the overdue fines paid, or until the student pays lost book fees.
If an Academy Student has fines which have been left unpaid for over a year, or are in excess of $5.00, or has a lost book, they must pay the fines before borrowing additional books.
The Library owns several collections that may only be used within the library, including periodicals, newspapers, and reference books.
The periodical collection is located behind the Check Out Desk. To obtain a particular periodical or newspaper, make a request at the Check Out Desk. A RVCC library card will be required. Current popular periodicals and newspapers are also on display on the main floor of the library.
Students may borrow books and request articles from other libraries through the free-of-charge Interlibrary Loan Service. Visit the Library’s Interlibrary Loan page for complete details.
Allow at least two (2) weeks for delivery of material. Requests are limited to five (5) items a day. Requested material follows the borrowing policies of the lending library. To renew Interlibrary Loan material, contact the Interlibrary Loan Desk (908) 526-1200 x8224 or x8558 five (5) days before the material is due.
