How do I find the book or video on the shelf?

To locate a book yourself, write down the call number or or email it to yourself (in the Share menu) and head to the library to find it in the stacks! The call number is the alphabetical and numerical code listed after the shelf location under Available and the green checkmark in the screenshot below. You should also pay attention to the shelf location, because some books are in special collections around the library. Both pieces of information are at the bottom of each print item record in the search results list.

Any library employee will be more than happy to help you find what you are looking for, or you can check the Library Floor Plan to see where shelf locations are.

See the next section, Request the Book, for info on how to request books for pick up at the Check Out Desk.

Reading the call number

Please see this video for information on how to use the call number to find the physical book on the shelf. (The book was made by another college library, but the information applies to our library, too. Plus, there is a cute dog!)
