How do I search the Library Catalog?
Type as much as you know – the title, the author, or topical keywords – into the search box. If you know the exact title of the book, use quotation marks around the title to better target your results. Your keywords do not have to be as narrow or specific as they would for a scholarly article, since books are longer and usually provide broader coverage of a topic.
Once you have a list of results, you can refine them with the options on the left side of the screen. Check the eBook option under Format to read a book without even leaving your seat. Narrow by date to find something recent. You can even broaden your search to Libraries Worldwide to see what other libraries around the world have on the topic. Go to Interlibrary Loan to find out how to do that.
