Megan Dempsey, Instructional Services Librarian
Professional profile, online research consultations, and more information about Megan, Professor, MSLIS, MA
Hi! My name is Megan Dempsey and I've been the Instructional Services Librarian at the Evelyn S. Field Library since 2007. Currently, I am the library liaison to the Business & Public Service department, English department, Science & Engineering department, and the RVCC Honors College. I teach INFO 101 Information Seeking in Today's World, a 1-credit information literacy course.
My two primary areas of interest are information literacy and open educational resources. The recent achievement I am most proud of is working with the RVCC Foundation to secure grant funding for faculty to adopt open educational resources in their classes instead of requiring expensive, commercial textbooks. Learn more on the Open Educational Resources guide.
I am available for one-on-one research consultations Monday through Friday. Evening appointments can be scheduled in advanced; please send me an email with the day and time you are looking for.
