The Council of Science Editors has three documentation styles that all provide the same information in slightly different formats. Be sure to use the format required by your instructor. The links in this guide are for the Name-Year system, which uses the author's last name and year of publication for in-text citations. Please refer to the print copy of Scientific style and format : the CSE manual for authors, editors, and publishers in the Library's Reference Collection for details on the other formats.
Citation is an important part of your academic integrity as a student. When you rely on the work of others, you must give credit to those sources. Academic integrity also means that you are submitting independent, original work in your courses. The full RVCC Student Academic Integrity Policy can be found in the student handbook and through the library website.
