Historical Research Paper

Research a person, text, organization, or event, and write a paper summarizing your findings.

The paper should contain two parts. First, a summary of your subject, including what the facts are, and what the most important pieces of information are. Second, an analysis or evaluation, such as why this is significant, and how it relates to at least one of the topics or time periods covered in this course.

  • Use at least 2 credible sources
  • At least 1 of the sources must be peer-reviewed

Goals of this guide:

  • Find credible sources of background information like encyclopedias or books to learn the facts of your topic and develop keywords.
  • Locate and evaluate sources like scholarly articles to help analyze your topic and develop a defined research question.
  • Understand how to create an annotated bibliography.
