Undocumented students in New Jersey may be eligible for student aid. New Jersey’s state-funded financial aid for higher education is now available to all qualifying students, regardless of their immigration status. Under a new policy signed into law by Governor Phil Murphy on May 9, 2018, graduates of New Jersey high schools who do not have documented immigration status, but who meet other qualifying criteria, will be eligible to apply for state-funded financial aid for postsecondary education starting in the fall semester of Academic Year 2018/2019.
