Stewards & Scholars is actively seeking student voices to feature. Your contribution could look like a poem, photos, an editorial, digital art, or creative writing.
A written piece could look like...
your experience as an environmentalist (perhaps in connection to RVCC / the Environmental Club)
a story about an event that changed your perspective on an environmental topic
a personal expression about something you feel deeply about
an educational or creative writing piece about a topic or initiative of interest
The goal is to highlight the passion RVCC students have for the environment.
For the first edition, Juaquin volunteered to share his poem which he recited at the campus climate rally. Yash wrote several pieces including an op-ed covering the United Nations Climate Change Conference & an interview with a world traveler who's rooted in nature.
Additionally, if students have personal projects that they'd like to share, we are open to including photos, videos, or short blurbs! See at the bottom of the second edition of the newsletter, we had a photo wall of the interesting personal education & projects students were up to during the pandemic.
Ideally, any written piece would be short (under 2 pages of size 11 font & 1.15 spacing) but we are open to accepting anything you're interested in sharing! Depending on what you're thinking, we can incorporate your piece into the latest edition.
Please speak with Emilie Stander, emilie.stander@raritanval.edu, if you have an interest in contributing or would like more info.
