Virtual Collection still open 24/7!

As you head into finals week and wrap up your semester, you are probably looking forward to a break from some of your scholarly pursuits. The library will also take a winter break starting at 2:00pm on Friday December 21 and reopen on  Wednesday January 2 at 8:00am. Although our building will be closed, our online, virtual collection will still be open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week! Here are a few highlights that might pique your interest. (Note - unless noted, all resources require an RVCC G# and Password).

Credo Reference

Have you ever found yourself reading a Wikipedia article about collective noun names for groups of animals and suddenly, you're reading about the ancient Roman conquest of the Iberian Peninsula? If this has happened to you, you've likely found yourself on a Wikipedia tangent! While Wikipedia has certainly improved since it first debuted, perhaps you want a change of tone or to be absolutely certain that what you're reading is accurate and factual. Credo Reference consists of 3,481,887 full text articles in 1,041 titles from 119 publishers. These are in-depth, subject specific encyclopedias and dictionaries and can help you to learn the general overview of a topic. credo reference

An added bonus is the Topic Pages. They send you to other resources and help you explore other areas related to one broad topic. While Credo doesn't have a complete list of every episode  cast member for Game of Thrones, you'll definitely be able to learn about the filming locations of the show like Northern Ireland, Morocco, and Croatia.

If you don't see something you like here, or you want to find articles, check out all of the library's databases databases access

We have more than 100 and something for everyone! Enjoy your winter break!
