Introduction to Library Services

Catalog

The Catalog is used to search for the various materials the Library owns and/or has access to including: Books, Periodicals, E-Books, DVDs, Audiobooks, Class Materials and Maps.

Databases

The Library has access to over 50 online databases containing articles, books, films and images. Visit the Databases Page to see a listing of the Library's Databases by Subject or by Title.

Periodical Locator

While conducting research, you may come across entries that only have the citation for an article, not the full article. The Periodical Locator is a cross reference tool which tells you if the Library has access to the Full-Text and if so, which database you should use.

Research Guides

The Research Guides provide you with a starting point for your Research Paper. The Research Guides list specific books, databases, Library of Congress Subject Headings, and Online Resources to help you get started on your research assignment.

Inter-Library Loan

The Library's Inter-Library Loan (ILL) service allows you to request books and articles available at other libraries across the country. Requests can be filled out and submitted using the ILL Online Forms.

Information Literacy Tutorial

The Information Literacy Tutorial goes in-depth on how to get started on your Research Paper as well as how to fully utilize all the services available at the Library. A new InfoLit Tutorial will be unveiled Spring 2009!
