Pennies for Peace - What's a penny worth to you?
It's probably not worth much, but in Afghanistan and Pakistan pennies can provide children with valuable literacy and educational opportunities. That means more economic opportunities for these children and a greater chance for peace. Donate your pennies today! Visit the circulation desk at the RVCC library.
Pennies for Peace commemorates the legacy of Abraham Lincoln and is a program of the Central Asia Institute (CAI). The CAI's mission focuses on community-based education, especially for girls. A 5th grade education for girls improves not only the basic indices of health for her and her family, she will also spread the value of education within her community. Literacy, for both boys and girls, provides better economic opportunities in the future and neutralizes the power of despot mullahs and other extremist leaders.

New Periodical Display
In the Fall, the Library implemented a new way for current periodicals to be displayed. You may have already seen the new shelving in the display area. With this new shelving, the Library can display over 60 current periodicals. Check back later in the semester to find back issues neatly concealed behind the current issue.
Faculty, Staff and Administrators may checkout back issues of periodicals for one week. Unfortunately, the current issue on display cannot be checked out.
In the meantime, please enjoy the new periodical display which enables more titles and more issues to be available to the community.
