Acknowledging that we live in a society where we are inundated with information through "a 24-hour news cycle and thousands of global television and radio networks, coupled with an immense array of online resources," the statement calls on us to recognize how important it is to distinguish "truth from fiction and signal from noise" by learning to evaluate information.
