Sony E-Reader Book Request

Policy:

• It is the policy of the Raritan Valley Community College Library to lend E-Readers to all eligible RVCC Students, Faculty and Staff.
• Eligible students, faculty and staff include all those with a clear library record (no fees, fines or billed items) and who can present a valid RVCC ID.
• E-Readers have a 2 week loan period. One renewal for an additional 2 weeks is allowed if no one else is waiting to use one.
• E-Readers returned late are subject to a $10.00 overdue fine each day the E-Reader is late. E-Readers not returned after 1 week of being late are subject to replacement costs ($350.00) and a processing fee of $15.00.
• E-Readers returned with any assessed damage that would result in the Library not being able to circulate the device to other patrons will be charged replacement costs ($350.00) and a processing fee of $15.00.
• An E-Reader Loan Agreement Form must be read and signed by the borrower before the E-Reader is checked out for the first time.
• Only one E-Reader can be checked out at a time per borrower.
• E-Readers can be placed on Hold.

The E-Reader will not be checked back in if:

• The charger (power cord) is not returned.
• The E-Reader storage case is not returned.
• The E-Reader stylist is not returned.
• Any damage or tampering is assessed (including any consequence of misuse, accident, modification, attempts to access internal parts, removal of labels, keys, or equipment components.)

The equipment remains the property of RVCC for which the borrower is responsible to safeguard and protect against damage and loss during the loan period. Therefore, we ask that you keep all food and drink away from the E-Reader.

Agreement

• I am fully responsible for any loss or damage to this E-Reader.
• I will not loan this E-Reader to another person.
• I will return the E-Reader, and all components, to a staff member at the Check Out Desk.
